Mr. Anthony Fama

Mr. Anthony Fama will be the guest speaker for Professor Albert Bina’s class, MSIN 647 Computer Networking: Routing and Switching & Professor Kevin Roach’s class, MSIN 625 Advanced Web and Application Technology, on December 16th, 2019.

Mr. Anthony Fama is currently a CEO,MBA, MS, and CISSP at Executive Technology Group. The topic that will be discussed is current issues in real world security. This includes anatomy of attacks, types of hackers and how they conduct their attacks. There will be a brief discussion on encryption algorithms and protocols on WAN design.

Mr. Felix Chin will be the guest speaker for Professor Kevin Roach’s class, MSIN 625, Advanced Web and Application Development, on November 25th, 2019.

Mr. Felix Chin is currently a Lead Software Developer at ACA Compliance Group. The topic that will be discussed is JavaScript Math and Computation. This will be about understanding math and computation theories on JavaScript, being able to create algorithm JavaScript functions and how they can be used to solve complex concepts.

Mr. Stephen Christie is currently a Director of Network and Operations at HBR Consulting. He will discuss ITIL Principles. This will include the importance of IT Service Management in today’s working environment, specifically trying day-to-day network operations at a New York MLAW 100 firm to the ITIL framework.

Ms. Emily Sarkis will be the guest speaker for Professor Joseph LoCicero’s class, Interactive Design II WMMN 614, on March 11th, 2020.

Ms. Emily Sarkis is currently the Head of User Experience, Enterprise Portal and Collaboration at Wells Fargo. Emily will talk about her experiences as a UX/UI designer. She will take questions and show samples of her work redesigning the user experience at Wells Fargo.

Ms. Polina Bulman

Ms. Polina Bulman will be the guest speaker for Professor Jolie Ruelle’s class, WMMN 660 Digital Photography for Designers, on February 27th, 2020.

Ms. Polina Bulman is an award winning documentary photographer specializing in family, photography, weddings and events. She will present her work and discuss working in the field of photography today.

Ms. Mary Nittolo will be the guest speaker for Professor Jolie Ruelle’s class, WMMN 650, Type in Motion, on December 5th, 2019.

Ms. Mary Nittolo is currently the CCo of “the STUDIO,” a full service and animation graphics company. She will be discussing and showcasing the work they do there as well as giving insight into their process.

Mr. Phil D’Apolito will be the guest speaker for Professor Ilene Silverberg’s class, WMMN 601, Interface Design Principles, on December 3rd, 2019.

Mr Phil D’Apolito is currently a Senior Editor at PSP. He will discuss content management communication.

Ms. Emily Pearsall

Ms. Emily Pearsall will be the guest speaker for Professor Ilene Silverberg’s class, WMMN 601, Interface Design Principles, on December 3rd, 2019.

Ms. Emily Pearsall is currently the Senior Presentation Designer at AnswerLab. She will discuss design and client facing and different aspects of working on a team in the art world.

Mr. Jonathan Hayes

Behavioral scientist at Google

Mr. Jonathan Hayes will be the guest speaker for Professor Renata Pereira Rocha Moreira’s class, WMMN 601, Interface Design Principles, on October 17th, 2019.

Mr. Jonathan Hayes is currently a behavioral scientist at Google. He will discuss User Experience (UX) Research. This discussion will include how to identify the types of UX research; cover the step-by-step process of planning, preparing, and conducting UX research interviews; and providing hands-on activities.

Mr. Patrick Aievoli

Associate professor and graphic designer at LIU – Post Campus

Patrick started his career in 1978 as a designer for local editorial and advertising companies. In 1984, he became a promotional designer at McGraw-Hill. Professor Aievoli has been a full-time academic since 1989 when he left his position as senior designer, print promotion, at the McGraw-Hill Book Company. During his time at McGraw-Hill Patrick helped in the creation of McGraw-Hill’s first interactive CD-ROM “Encyclopedia of Science and Technology” in 1987.

In 1990 to 1996 Prof. Aievoli completed his thesis on “The Use of New Media in Higher Education” culminating in an interactive art history CD-ROM featuring core and dynamic content along with a simplified suite of online learning tools. In 1998 he became a full-time faculty member at LIU Post in Brookville, NY. He became the director of the campus’ Interactive Multimedia Arts graduate program in 1999 and has built the program from the start until its elimination in 2018.

Professor Aievoli is still involved in the new media arena consulting for some of the metro areas largest new media companies and is a 6 Time Long Island Advertising Club – Advisor for Student Best On Long Island winner 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2008 and 2009.

Mr. Victor Rivero is currently the editor and chief for EdTech Digest. The topic he will discuss is the state of the field of educational technology.
